Hogs are born and raised on Minka Farm, certified Animal Welfare Approved by A Greener World. Hogs live outdoors their entire lives in wooded pastures where they can root, burrow and act like pigs. Hogs are fed a local feed, excess produce, and extra eggs (cooked) from the chickens and ducks. Our sows are bred at different times of the year to have a supply of pork spread across the year. Check our farm store to see when upcoming pork is available and to place a deposit. Pork is custom cut to the extent allowed by the processor: Piedmont Custom Meats. If you choose bacon, it is ready approximately 4 weeks after the rest of the pork is delivered and must be picked up from Minka Farm unless other arrangements are made.
